Logging In (main.asp)

1. To use this system, you must first login. To receive a user name and password, contact Jake Omaits at jomaits@ogdennews.com. You will login at the screen below.

2. After logging in, you can see which website you are editing. The domain and username/email can be seen in the header (see pic). Ensure this is correct before editing any site. If you are a webmaster for more than one site, you will want to ensure you insert the correct stories.

3. In the upper-left corner, you will notice a few things as well. You will see a counter. When the counter reaches zero (0), you will automatically be redirected to the login page. Each time you move from one page to another, the counter will reset. This is important since we need to conserver server resources. There are also links to the main functions of this site. These links will appear on all pages. Finally, there is a "logout" link. You should always logout when you are done. This will free session resources as well as prevent users from logging in on your account.

All user activity is tracked by both the IP address and username. Should you leave your account open, someone could easily access it and make changes to the site under your identity! Also, you should never attempt to edit a page on any other account your own. Each user account only has permission to edit their respective homepage. If you login as someone else, you will be editing their homepage!
